Question about buying used Camry

Looking for used Camry. Looking to spend 3-4K. Is it better for me to get something newer or something with less miles, for instance a 2000 with 186K miles or 1995 with say 106K. Price being comparable. Depending on answer what is the tipping point between age and miles?

Anyone have an opinion?

Seems to me the older ones were less problem prone and better built.

Shoot for the one with 106K regardless of I4 or V6, same engine type, the older 5SFE's tending to be more reliable, and the V6's are pretty much the same.

You'll get more time out of the older one, as it has less miles. BUT, only if it was cared for, if not it will give you issues down the road.

I agree with the 2 previous posters about the older generation 3's (1992-1996) being a bit more reliable, but as I see you are in Minnesota you also have to consider the shape of the body as a factor. Check the car carefully for signs of rust.
