I'm toying with a manual tranny swap for my 88 V6, and am wondering what transmissions work. I know they offered a manual tranny with the V6 stock, but could I put in a tranny from a celica or mr2 for better gear ratos? I know talisman is putting a 3S GE tranny in his gen2, but his is an L4 and I don't know if the tranny for an L4 is the same as the V6.

I am not 100% sure about it but I would say that the L4 tranny is different. I think if you want to make sure not to get any problem it might be better just buy a Camry v6 tranny. Best site I know to find such parts is www.car-part.com
