55w HID's won't work

Hey Everybody.
Okay, I just got a 55w 8k HID kit the other day, the only problem is, it doesn't work in my '05 Camry LE. My friend & I tried it in my friend's '04 Camry LE & they didn't work in his either. We also tried my HID kit in my freind's car & they worked fine & they work in mine too. They are the 9006 bulb type, the HID's that I have now are 35w 6k kit. My question is, is there a compatibility issue w/the 55w kits using 9006 bulbs or can I only use 35w kits? I wanted to upgarde mine & put mine in my mom's car b/c her headlights do no justice @ all. Also, I wanted to put HID's one my friend's '07 Altima, he has the H11 bulb type, do you think it might cause the same issue? Here is the link to the website where I ordered them...http://vvme.com. Let me know what you guys think might be the problem.

Did you check the polarity of the plugs? I couldn't get my kit to work until I realized the plug was backwards (i.e. do not attach them hook-to-hook).

Yup...that was the first thing I checked, (that happened when I installed my 1st HID kit). My old HID's work perfectly on my car & my friend's car also. I kept my old HID's on one side & plugged in the new one on the other side, the HID's make a distinctive sound when they run, I heard it from the old ones, but when I try to listen in on the new HID's, & there is no sound comming from it @ all.
