'09 2.4 vs '10 2.5

Tried to search for a similiar topic but didn't find much. Maybe someone can point me to one?

My buddy is going to purchase either a '09 or '10 camry. I test drove the '09 and was impressed by the great ride. Didn't get a chance to drive the '10. From what I've found the '10 now have a 2.5 and 6spd trans correct?

I'm basically looking for any personal experiences/input from any owners or mechanics. I was wondering what would be the better choice if one had to pick between the two? Obviously the '10 looks great with the new trans and engine. But should he save the $ and go for the '09?

I remember buying a '97 corolla with the 1.6. Buddy of mine tried to convince me to get one with the 1.8. Well his 1.8 burns about a quart every 700miles while our 1.6 doesn't use a drop. I realize that this is just one example but I heard this was a common issue for 1.8's.

I'm just trying to avoid any similiar issues for my buddy with the '09 and '10 (not specifically oil burning). I also realize that all the '09 and '10's are low mileage at this point so this may not be possible. But any input is welcome!

Buy the 2010. Improved eng and trans, many options are now standard. You lose 2x with the 09, one year depreciation and when you drive it off the lot you lose another 20% in value. So it's not really cheaper to buy the 09. They also offer 0% financing on the 2010 here.

2010 is better. My sister has 2 camry's 08' and 2010, one for each daughter. So many cars to choose from, they choose the exact same car, I guess they love their Camry's

i totally agree what csaxon said, and also with '10s 6 speed the fuel economy will be close if not better compare to '09s 5 speed (if u drive HW a lot).in addition to that ull get dual exhaust, LED tails.

I have an '07 (same as the '09) AND a 2010. Buy the 2010 - you get traction/stability control, and the engine is quieter under acceleration and faster. MPG is also a little better.
