supercharging a VVTi

I was wondering if anyone knew why you can use a supercharger on the older 3.0L 1MZFE and not the newer 3.0L 1MZFE with the VVTi. What makes VVTi so different that you can't throw the supercharger on it. I have the 3.3L 1MZFE with VVTi will toyota make a supercharger for that or not? Thanks

#1 - if your engine is 3.3L, then you have a 3MZFE
#2 - Toyota does not have a Supercharger for a 3MZFE in the US
#3 - They might have a 3MZ Supercharger or Turbo System in Japan. Currently there are no Camry V6 models in Japan, so if you search, look for it in a Toyota Windom.

The VVT-i 3.3 and 3.0 has ETC (Electronic Throttle Control). This is the main reason why SC is not available.

the camry's 2.4 vvt-i engine is getting a supercharger on the upcoming Scion, and it has an ETC.
