First of all, let me explain why we have done that.. My engine had ~320000km, I had overheating problems and changed the thermostat + rad and it didn't fixed the problem.. when I went to get the timing belt + water pump changed, the engine overheated too much by accident and the gaskets died and everything..
After a little diagnostig at the toyota dealer, the pistons rings and MANY gaskets had to be changed.. (On a 320000km engine ?!! No way!!)
So, we went to nagano (
www.naganojapanese.com) and I got a new 3vzfe for 600$ (no taxes) with less than 100000km on it
the thing started, I was able to get a garage to do the job and Ben-RR was okay to help me with that
I want to do a special thanks for Ben-RR girlfriend who really understood the situation and let Ben-RR work with me 'til 5am yesterday and 7am this morning.
The swap went very well, we had no troubles at all.. Not even a check engine light even if the intake is different (no EGR)
We also removed the A/C because it was not working since last year and I don't need that..
So, here are some pics of the work, I know that some people here are interrested
The BEFORE installation (sorry for the quality, taked with my cell phone)
