i need some help planing on doing a swap

hey guys. im new and ive been here a few times. ive read many of the threads and it seems like everyone here knows whats up. i have a 93 camry le with the 5sfe( i think thats the code) i4, and i want to switch that out and put in the v6 engine. my question is which toyota v6 will go in with out too much hassle since im pretty new to working on cars. i have a 5spd 94 tranny sitting in my garage that is just waiting ot be put in and i figure if im gonna swap the tranny i should at least see if i could swap the engine . norammly i dont think most would do this but i dont think ill be getting a car for long time. and if any one has info on a tranny swap as well it would be helpful.(i got a pretty good picture of waht to do from ratkos page but more info never hurts) thanks in advance.

"listen once i finsh the body work and work on the engine this wont be just llike ur grannies camry. u dont what this little monster can do." me talking ot a few guys ragging on me for working on my camry

Man, it's going to be a lot of work. Since yours is a 94, the 1MZ will fit. You can ask Zoni for the wiring. He has done the swap with a 94 V6 engine into a 94 chassis. The wiring is the hardest part. Everything else should bolt right in. In my case, I used a 98 1MZ, and more custom wiring had to be done since I was using a 92 chassis. There are suttle differences, that should not effect anything. If you use the 94 ECU, you will only get 185HP, but if you use the 97+ you can get 194hp. THis is just the start. IF you want more info, try a search, and it should come up with more info. The tranny for a I4 may not work cause of gearing, but I may be wrong. Good luck.

thanks for that info man . i made a mistake earleir the tranny is from a 93 just like mine but ur not sure if it will work tih the v6. i think i read somewhere that the trannys up to 97 can be used in gen 3, so if i used one off of a newr v6 cam and get a v6 it should work(with alittle wiring magic)?
does anyone know if the whole engine set up off a gen 4 camry could drop into a 93 if all the wiring is transplanted.
cuz that was my original plan, but i wasnt sure if it could be done. i have nothing aganist the v6 for gen 3 its ust the thers a supercharger for hte gen 4s so why not right?

You can transplant the entire subframe over. This consists of the subframe, axles, wheels, brakes, and front suspension. It is held on by four bolts on the bottom and the six holding in the struts. You need to disconnect all the hoses and wires. THe junk yards said to raise the car up, and then use a fork lift to take the entire subframe out. The wiring harnesses might not be able to be transplanted. There needs to be some splicing and saudering. That was my exact plan, and I did it. My supercharger is in the mail as I write this.

You might be able to use the 3rd gen 1mz, and wire it to a gen 4 computer, but I am not sure.

One thing to keep in mind is that solara parts for the engines I think are almost idnetical. Good luck.
