Talking Need Help !!!!!!!!

Any way we figured out it was the water pump that busted. Gear was grinding down in it making the car sound like it was knocking. Once we replaced the water pump flushed fluids and all that good stuff she started right up and sounded better than ever. We noticed the idle was running lower in the 800's we thought nothing of this and rapped up what we were doing . Then on the road we noticed it lost alot of power.

What could of caused this ? is it the timing and if it is how much does it cost to get it fixed at shop ?

Id apreciate all the help comments or info if you got any. And please dont tell me to check my oil that was the stupidist reply ive ever gotten on any of these forums.

Did you reinstall the timing belt properly?

I think if the timing belt was only one cog (sorry I am not sure of the correct word in English) further it would make a very audible knock noise (I already got that problem once), and one cog difference shouldn't really dammage the engine unless you really start to drive several miles. But one or even a few cogs of difference shouldn't affect the performance of the car, unless (but I can't really say since I don't know what car you have) the knock sensor feels problems and asks the ecu to lower the advance. That might be an option, but I am really not sure. Do you get the engine light btw ?

What car and engine do you have ? Give us more details on the problem and what is going on. Do you have engine light on ? Is the engine knocking ? (like grlgrlgrl, bit like a diesel engine) I would simply say that the only way is to take your time to check and recheck all your marks and look for a possible 1 cog difference. Just take your time but do it well, especially with the camshaft pulley. Once all is in place, make the crankshaft turn several times and recheck if everything is still at the right place. Don't hesitate to start it again if you are not sure. btw are you sure of the right place for marks ?

It affects the valve timing. In other words the valves will open / close at the wrong time.
