How to get OBDII codes?

I have 97 Camry. How you do get the OBD to "flash" or tell you what the problem beside a code reader.

I THINK it is not possible to do this on these cars. On other models you should jump te1 to t1 or something like that and count the number of times it flashes.

autozone used to read your code for free but because of some lawsuit they don't do it anymore.

you can basically take it to a regular mechanic shop and have them read it... some will charge some are nice to do it for free... just pretend you need to get it fixed and say you were wondering what problem it is and then ask them for a price or somethin and then say you'll go back... lol

whatever works... but ya you need that reader that plugs under your steering wheel.

I got a 96 Camry. Can someone please tell me where to plug in my OBDII scanner? Is it under the dash or glove box?

Under the dash. You'll see the plug for it.
