Ever since I put my subs in my 96 camry, the break light cover on the back deck is rattling like NO OTHER. I was thinking of a few methods to prevent it, but was curious to ask the experts if anyone had any ideas !! Thanks !!

Well, I'm no expert, but I just got some foam weatherstripping for outdoor home use, and put that on the edge that fits up against the rear window. It fits real tight and looks OK too (I have tinted windows too).
A little tough to intall and remove the thing but it no longer rattles.

BTW, I found that the torsion bars linked to the trunk, also rattle - so for now I have wrapped a towel around them. I'll work something better out later.

Cheers,

Same here, for the light cover on the back deck, i just wedged a folded up piece of paper between the glass and plastic. I'm always looking for the cheap ways out.

Subs will do that. If not the brake cover, it will be something else. Just make sure it's snapped on properly. Other than that, maybe a small piece of carpet padding or silicone.

Lucky... you still have your cover? Mine came flying off and flew out the back window a while back (that was from one 12" L7).

Actually, I found most of my rattling came from the 3rd brake light assembly itself (kind of a metallic jingling) - very annoying. Tightening up the bolts on it seemed to work well... until they loosened up again. I'm gonna cover the whole assembly in dynamat (already did the back dash) and replace the cover after I get a new one from the stealer.. er, dealer.

Now that I have my new enclosure and subs in and everything sealed off for the most part, hopefully it'll stay on this time.

on my other car, i just used some sticky tak, and stuck it together, and put carpet around it....worked good, and looked better than a plastic peice. just get some speaker box carpet, some spray adhesive, and there you go.
