The official says the safety agency is looking at the possibility that electromagnetic interference might somehow be causing Toyota's electronic throttle control systems to malfunction, though NHTSA has not seen evidence to support that yet.

1 month ago this "issue" didnt exist... as far as I know there has only been 1 real issue with a stuck throttle... and that 1 guy's Avalon was determined to have a pedal that the pivot point had dirt and gunk built up on...
All these other stories I am hearing about are on cars that arent involved in the recall, meaning they dont have the same pedal installed in them and that there is no chance of crap getting stuck in the pivot point... The media went nuts on this cause they wanted to hack down Toyota... I love how the media is NOT hyping up the fact that its the Toyota's that are built in AMERICA that are affected and not the ones built in Japan...
Let me point something else out for everyone... The company that produces the pedals for Toyota USA is able to make 100,000 pedals a day for this recall... that's 3 million pedals a month... so 36,500,000 pedals a year... Toyota has recalled 4.6 million vehicles that are as old as 2005 (every vehicle that has this pedal installed in it) so the question to ask yourself is what company gets the remaining 31,900,000 pedals produced per year? GM? Ford? Chrysler? Honda? Subaru? Kia? Hyundai? All car manufacturers?
OH! and please check your VIN, if it starts with "JT" dont call to ask if your vehicle is involved in the recall... its not...
My 2 cents...
Just some food for thought...
