In my car (see sig), I entered a round-a-bout (sp?) in second gear, turned right, then left to exit, and upon exiting, I floored it (over 3 seconds, gradual increase) while I was doing a gentle rigth hand turn. It felt like the car was 'hopping' (felt like the front outside tire) - is this wheel spin, or some sort of consequence of FWD and a big engine? I was being very smooth and careful, so nothing was abrupt. Because it was the tire without traction, I vote is was very mild wheel spin.
Any ideas? I am sure someone knows what I am talking about.
Thanks! Just wondering. It felt 'normal'

stock rims and tires, stock suspension, stock everything i think would equate to tire spin and or body roll while under heavy driving
ive got h&r springs, tokico blues and a set of 17's on my car..no problems in cornering
doesnt cost much for these mods..if u plan on autocrossing or constant heavy cornering its a good investment
**edit
regardless of gentle corner or not..speed while cornering will create body roll, especially while accelerating

TRD Supercharger, Custom exhaust coming soon..maybe..hopefully..someone got some extra loot?
only my opinion but no use going fast if u cant handle the turn coming up..lol
aftermarket rims have lots of advantages...the looks, a bigger contact patch with the road which in turn increases traction and handling
theres a lot to think of when buying rims so make sure u search the forum..also look into the place ur buying ur rims and tires from...lots of people get shoddy stuff from unknown companies online..my suggestion is www.discounttiredirect.com or www.tirerack.com.
i went with discount tire direct..they got free shipping also

Because all my money comes from the same place, and if I spend money on one thing, I have to evaluate if I can spend it on another.
I have about $5000 worth of stuff I want and could buy, but that would not be a very smart thing for me to do. I am trying to prioritize and see what I can do without. I am also in the process of starting a fund or buying some stocks, so I need all the money I can get for that.
The lens is almost $1000, and the suspension would cost me the better part of $1000, too. I am just trying to deceide what I should and shouldn't buy.

this happened to me for a while till i got new rims/tires.. your tires are probably peeling. if you look closely at the threads and divets on your tire(s) you will probably find a bit of a lip. this is guaranteed to make your wheel hop during heavy accel. i think its caused by peeling out once every too often
Since I got my new tires, I have not spun the tires more than described in my initial post. They will probably be shot by 20,000 miles, and I could probably blast 1,000 miles by burning out.
However, whenever my clutch is feeling wierd, I take my engine up to 3k, and sloppily let the clutch out as to GRIND it a bit, then carry on. I used to smell clutch smoke quite a bit, but I have not smelled it in months. I think the clutch was probably working on a small contact area, and I 'cleaned' it. It seems to be working MUCH better.
However, with a V6, I have a feeling the clutch won't last too long even if I drive smoothly. I have no idea what a bad clutch feels like...

Yeah, I'd definitely go with some suspension improvements, even just adding the Whiteline F&R swaybars on your car would make a huge difference w/o breaking the bank. Then, when you're ready to replace the struts, put on some Eibach springs and Tokico struts. It won't hurt to add a front strut tower brace, the toyota one for the solara works well (but may touch the hood insulation - if that bothers you, do a search before ordering).
My cars an I4 5spd, so it's very slow, but it has some impressive cornering ability. My stock 195/70/14 tires were shot so I put on some 205/60/15 Kumho Ecsta KH11s on 15" steel rims. I wanted to maintain the sleeper look. The tires have only 30 miles on them so I'll withhold judgement until they're broken in a bit, but the car outhandled my Mustang GT even with those tiny 14" wheels and tires. But don't worry, the Mustang's suspension is getting re-worked this year
I wouldn't suggest clutch drops as a good way to help your clutch, what's the weird feeling you're getting from it? Does it feel rubbery or something? If so, it might just be heated up from slipping it too much. In any case, if you can smell the clutch lining, that's not a good thing...
If the clutch is bad, if you floor it in 3rd gear you'll see the RPMs jump way up w/no corresponding increase in MPH. The same test can be done in 5th, as well...
I second DJ's advice. Start with strut tower brace and at least a new rear swaybar. Not all that expensive and makes a nice difference. They effectively killed a majority of my wheel hop before upgrading the rest of my suspension.
Otherwise new springs/struts and wider rims are the way to go. After going with tokico struts and eibach springs, along with 7.5" wide rims, my handling is almost scary.
