camry not starting

my 88 camry isnt starting...i turn the key and i get NOTHING... just one click and thats it...i asked some buds of mine and they said it maybe the starter, or the battery maybe...if anyone can lend a hand, that would be great...thanks

sounds like a battery issue. have you tried turning off all the electric stuff in the car and jumping it with another car?

thanks for the replys so far...but i tried jumping it, no dice...im guessing its the starter...but could it also be the alternator?? i dunno, its just not turning at all, no noise, no nothing, and i gotta get to class...

probably not the alternator, its probably the starter, try hitting it with a hammer handle (the motor part of the starter, not the selenoid) old worn starters sometimes stick, its probalby on its way out

if it gives one click its either the starter relay or the selenoid plunger, so the fuse would be ok

cool thanks.... i tried tapin on the starter while tryin to start it and it started right up..so thanks alot!... at least i know what the problem is and ima go out a buy a new starter(blah) with money that i dont really have..hahaha...thanks again
