just replaced struts and control arms

i bought my struts from napa for 45$ each for each corner. and i bought the entire control arm for each side WITH bushings AND ball joint delivered to my door for 120$ from ebay from eatonparts.

started on sat morn at 8am and was done @ 1:30pm.
not one stripped or broken bolt. i wasnt expecting that.

even the control arms were easy to remove once i loosened the sway bar.

the only real prob i had was the plastic susp. peice that was attached to the strut. you need an allen wrench and reg wrench to loosen the nut. but besides that, everything is smooth again.

no more creaks or groans or thuds.

when i removed the control arms the metal sleeve inside the bushing fell right out.
now all i need is an alignment and inspection.

^^^Have you replaced the strut mounts dallison ? I recently had my struts replaced and 2 days later the strut mounts were blown. It sounds horrible and the price's that I've been getting for the parts are crazy. . Do you know anywhere online where I can get strut mounts for a good price ?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info, now i know what the nasty groaning sound coming from my gen2's rear struts is. I replaced the struts about 2 years ago but i never replaced the mounts...guess that's what it is.

Eatonparts

I would like to find eatonparts on ebay to also purchase the control arms you spoke of at or near that price. Could you tell me their name on ebay please? I tried eatonparts, but thats not it. Or, if you have a internet addr for this seller?

Thank you, bob

if you need swaybar links, try sean at CTMotorsport

his name is "soundlzrd" here on TN, and he can probably get you these parts for much less.

and as for mounts, order them from autozone. just be sure to ask for the mount alone, it should be around $25USD
