how do you remove the tie rod end from the steering knuckle?

i'm trying to replace the knuckle on my 07 camry but the tie rod end wont come out! any tips?

If you dont have the right tool, then just take a large hammer and smack the side of the knuckle where the tierod end goes in. The vibration is usually enough to pop it loose.

I have not seen the gen6 tie rod end yet, but are there flat spots on the tie rod end for a wrench, and a nut behind it (jam nut)?
