Question do you think this antenna would work?

Hi all-

My power antenna just crapped out this week on my 95 LE and no longer goes up and down. Ive decided to put in a fixed mast antenna and was contemplating the s2000 swap.

I ran across this antenna on ebay while looking for the s2000, do you think it would work? (its cheap and im lazy ).

It doesn't look like it will. You need an antenna base that can handle the contours of the Camry....that one is for a flush mount.

An S2000 antenna only runs $35 Cdn at the dealership....online, they're much cheaper.

keep looking on e-bay, there is a guy who sells replacement power antennas(not OEM) for not much more than that. If your antenna motor still runs but mast doesn't go up then all you need is a replacement mast, not big bux.

Can you pull the antenna up and disconnect power to the motor. I did this on my 4Runner and the antenna works fine. I had to get into the fender well to disconnect but you might find a breaker or fuse.

Silver Streak- I thought the angle that the antenna is mounted on the fender might be a problem with that one.

I can pull the antenna up and it works (as in receives stations) but as i drive around it works its way down and my reception goes bad.

This automatic antenna has given me problems ever since ive had the car (doesnt move in the winter, gets stuck until it finally broke) so i think i will just put in a fixed mast. I found a Metra one (part number AWGM935) that is a universal mast that comes with all of the mounting parts for various cars for around $11. Not sure how cheesy it is for that price though. If it looks crappy i may go the s2000 route.

thanks for the help!
