Question How much for a NEW 1MZ-FE engine?

I am still shivering over the fact my dads truck will cost $6500 to get the engine replaced.

If my engine was dead, how much would a NEW (not rebuilt, salvaged, etc.) engine cost for my car (see sig)?

Just curious. What about a REALLY good used engine?

Thanks!

For my car, USED (not new), it looks like $2500 for something decent.

My car is 'good' If I put a so-so engine into what was a 'good' car, I will only have a so-so car.

All the truck engines they had were trash. Might be OK for a project (some listed with 100k miles - and not a rebuild!) - but this is a vehical that is taken WAY out in the middle of no where, and if this happened (thrown rod) in these places, it could literally cost many thousands of dollars to get it out.

If I call Toyota and ask for the price of a 1MZ-FE - will that do, or do they need other info?

Yeah and don't think an expensive one will mean good one. You can sometimes get some interesting deals while some people would also really overcharge you. The only way is to look around and take your time.
