I have been getting a P2238 error code and found that there is a technical service bulletin out on it. I have a 04 Camry with 75k miles, and according to this link, it may be under warranty. I have been getting the code on and off for a few months now.

A quote from the excerpt:

"I can't believe they did not check for this,I can not believe some of the incompetence that exists out there, by the way the warranty period for this is 96mos/80,000 miles so it will be fixed at no charge to you unless it is out of the time/mileage limits which I doubt is the case."

I tried calling the local toyota dealer and they told me that the warranty on this is 3 years or 36k miles. Another dealer didn't even answer the question, saying that they had to "get back to me", and never did. If I can avoid dropping an estimated $350 to $375 to fix this, I'd like to try.

Any suggestions?

If you have a copy of the TSB, go back to the dealer with the TSB and show it to the service writter. If you don't have a copy of it, call Toyota Corporate at 1-800-331-4331 and speak to a representative at their Customer Experience Center. Tell them about your experinces at the 2 dealerships. Expect to wait about 1 hour on hold before being connected to a rep when you call. I called recently and that was the wait time. I'm sure they are overwhelmed right now with all the calls about Sudden Unintended Acceleration issues.
