99 Camry Rear End Noise

Hi all. First post here, hope I get this right.

I have a '99 camry.

While it was still under warranty, I had it in the shop a couple of times for a "grinding" noise while braking hard. Couldn't find anything but did replace the brakes once. Didn't seem to help much.

Once, I had 3 adults in the back seat and would get a strange rumbling grinding sound from the back end.

Recently, I've noticed if I drive through a decent sized puddle of water there is a strange rumbling grinding sound from the back end or underneath when I accelerate. This only lasts a couple of seconds or so or until I let off the gas.

Any idea what this could be? Anyone?

Just today i had a similar sound coming from the rear suspension of my 89 gen2. I was like wtf because my car had been performing flawlessly until today. When i checked out the suspension i found that my rear sway bar was loose and that it was the cause of the vibration and heinous clunking sounds. Check and see if your end links are loose and if they're ok then check and see if your bushings are well oiled. If the rear sway bar is ok then take nico's suggestion and look into the struts. Hope this helps ya.

Is the suspension stock?

I would check brake components (ie. pads, rotors, shims) for even wear, and see if lubrication is needed. Also check your wheel bearings.
