Fuel Gauge response time 2009 camry.

I'm looking for feedback from other 2009 Camry owners. Can anyone tell me how long it takes their gas gauge to show full after fillups, when you get back in and start the car. My 2008 shows full right away, My parents have a 2009 camry and it takes their gauge 10-15 minutes. Any feed back from 2009 camry owners would be helpful. thanks,

update - Toyota is telling me that the 10-15 minutes for the gauge to show full is within their acceptable operating range and everything is fine now. That is after replacing cluster, sending unit, computer - this is after parts have tested out bad and been replaced.( why do parts keep going bad or testing bad?) My concern is there is a bigger problem here and once the car is out of warranty, we're into serious money. I know we are talking thousands of dollars and we still have not isolated the problem. The Service Rep said that This is exceptable for the age and miles. It started happening at around 10-11K miles. ( i would say ok after 100-200K miles, not after 10K) although Toyota says "nothing is wrong?", here is what has been done to date. Also, I do want to say, I am not trying to slam Toyota, this is the first real problem, out of about 10 toyotas in the family.

Can't speak of the 2009 Camry but we own a 1992 Camry LE, a 2010 Camry Hybrid and just traded in a 2007 Camry Hybrid.

It takes no more than 3-4 minutes for the fuel gauge to indicate a full tank after filling up.

When you say Toyota, are you talking about the dealer or Toyota corporate? If it is the dealer and you are still concerned about this problem, I would give Toyota corporate customer service a call and discuss the situation with them. Toyota calls their cutomer service the Toyota Expereince Center. The number is 1-800-331-4331. The hold time might be considerable right now, since they are getting a lot of calls about the SUA issue. I called about 3 weeks ago and was on hold about an hour before being able to speak to someone. Call when you have the time to be patient for a while.

thanks for the information. I should be more Clear, when I said Toyota, I was referring to the dealer. I contacted the 800-331-4331 number January 4th and have had the car back 3 times at this point, I am dropping the car off tonite, they have a tech that travels around to dealerships coming in tomorrow to look at it. Toyota's Customer Service "1-800-331-4331" have done very little and I usually end up calling them to give them updates when appointments are scheduled. On 4/2 I also tried a number for the Southeast Reagion 954-429-2000 and was sent to a voicemail of a Kirsten Cameron, have never received a call back, I left a message for the Rep assigned to the case at the toyota 1-800 was on 3/30, and have never received a call back from them, 48 hours call back is not my experience. I have kept details of every call, who i talked with, left message for and appointments. Although the problem exsists, I have to say i believe the dealership is trying everything they can think of. But still no change.

The bending rod attached to the black float controls the fuel gage reading. It may be binding on something near the sender.

I'm leaving to take it to the dealership in 30 minutes. I will ask them about this, I'm sure they hate customers asking them if it can be different things, but i'm getting to the point where I just want this thing fixed. I do appreciate the input. thanks....
