alarm and ground wires

I feel stupid for asking this question, but I'm going to get ground wires for my 97 Camry and I have micro brand alarm. I wont be able to start my car unless I press the alarm. If I install the ground wires I know that I have to remove the battery to connect the wires. If I remove the battery would I have to reprogram my alarm? I'm just afraid that I wont' be able to start my car after the installation. thanks for all your help

What I've heard from the guys at work is that you should be okay... the brain should retain the alarm's frequency in solid state. I would definitely check out whatever manual you have first, though... cause even if not for doing the ground wires, what are you going to do when you need to get a new car battery?
