You should find out if the films have warranty against fading. Lumar makes several lines of film. Find out which you are getting first.

All films generally have some type of warranty.

Find out if the film has warranty against fading or discoloration. Some films only cover against bubbling, delamination, adhesive failure, etc. If they guarantee against fading, then the film is less likely to fade and turn purple.

Cheap dyed films are almost guaranteed to turn purple after a few years, but if you won't keep the car for long, it may not matter.

Carbon, ceramic, and possibly metallic films will be more stable. I have 3M CS film and 3 years later, it looks the same as when I got it. I can roll down the windows and the part in the window seal and the exposed portions look the same.
