Hey I just installed my front strut bar and noticed that it touches an engine pipe at the top a little bit. I turned it on and it had no problem. But is it suppose to touch? And should i tighten the bolts as tight as possible. Thanks for responding!

Yeah the clearence is pretty tight. I've heard that if you rotate that bar 180 degrees it might help.

Use a torque wrench, and don't let the bar touches the intake manifold (better to be safe than sorry).

Wassupp, when I install a strut bar what kind of tool should I use to take off the nuts? Is it tight that i would have to use a power tool? Does anything fall out when I take out the nuts? Thanks.

no nothing will fall out if you undo the screws.use a rachet. the nuts aren't that tight where you need a power tool. so use a rachet and the right size socket. i forget what size it is so just try a couple and see which one fits best. then loosen and take off the three nuts put on the bar and then tighten the nuts as tight as you can. then after that, tighten the nuts on the end of the bar to extend it until they are tight.

I wouldn't listen to you if I were to do mine. If you tighten it too much you might snap the bolts during hard cornering and your whole suspension might fall out! (Ok that might be too much but it's still not a pretty sight...)

I thought it was 35 lbs of torque per nut for the front strut tower brace. 6 nuts in all.

ok maybe not as tight as you can but i dont have a torque wrench so i have to go by how it feels. i did all my suspension and nothing has broken. without a torque wrench its hard to be specific about how tight to tighten something. what is tight to him my be loose to me. it all depends n how stong you are and how mush you an tighten.

From Luc a while back:

Front (all in ft-lbs): 1) strut upper mounts: 59, 2) strut-to-suspension support (damper shaft) nut: 36, 3) strut-to-steering knuckle nuts: 156 for Camry, 162 for Solara, 4) stabilizer bar link to strut: 29
Rear (in the same format as above): 1) 29, 2) 36, 3) 145, both Camry and Solara, 4) 29.

It's also 59 in my Haynes...
Hope this helps. =)
