Synthetic fluid not always best

Hi everyone,
I was doing some search on google and found out that if u use synthetic fluid and not the one mentioned by the manufacturer it causes the gear to slip and also harsh shifting.
Here is the LINK

Regards,

Fortunately the Gen 4s 4cyls use Dexron III, which is widely available in synthetic and dino.

KENNETHK, I think you misunderstood the article. It wasn't warning you of the dangers of synthetics, it was warning you of using the wrong grade/type (ie. Dex II, III, V, T, V) of ATF, regardless if it's mineral based or synthetic.

I use Redline Hi Temp ATF and my car suffers from no ill effect.

First of all thank you all for your reply.
Oops sorry about the error.I should have read it more clearly. But u know what one thing i know is that i will never ever visit mr lube again. They recomended that i ude synthetic fluid and i dont even know what type of fluid they put in.The gear started slipping and i get harsh shifting.
So this week i took to another mechanic who changed it to dexron III and it seems to be running better.
But i have one question for you all.He drained it and i asume its not 100% drained. So do u think i should drain it agian since now i have dexron III and synthetic fluid mixed.
Regards,
KENNETHK
