Just did my lows.

I went down to autozone earlier today and picked up some 9005 silverstars. It wasn't as easy as I expected, I thought the tabs were going to be the outside wings, not on the socket itself. After about 10-15 minutes I had both shaved down to size though.

I didn't use the O-rings, is that ok?
I figured since the back still snaps in, it should be secure in the socket.

I just drove home from my father's (it's dark here already) and I must say, they're a lot clearer.

My next mod, I think, will be the CAI. I wanted to get a bit of a feel for under the hood first.

it shouldn't take 15min....

next time, just use an exacto knife...keep it short, jam it in so that you get leverage from the inside of the bulb, and slice slice and you're done

easy/cheap mod for a lot more light

It took a while because I was using plain razors, which were a little too thick to wedge in there, and I was having trouble getting the light in the socket, since it doesn't seem the sockets were pointing in any common direction.

I still need to get 2 more silverstars for my actual highs. I ran out of money on my lows. doh!
I probably should've ordered them rather than auto-zone, but I was too anxious.

whoops, another quick question I've been neglecting to ask:
Is there anything I can do for my front parking lights? They're really an ugly shade of amber.
If there's anything like the 9006-9005 mod, I'd be perfectly happy with that, or even replacing the socket itself and soldering the contacts. I think they really are the only thing I don't like about the car, and even that is minor.

I did a search on that, but couldn't find anything, but I've seen you guys with nice and bright parking lights, so I know at least one of you has the answer.

I hope I'm not getting annoying with all the questions.

They got those silver bulbs that glow amber... I'm assuming you're using clear bulps that have the dull amber color.

Thanks, do you know any sites that sell them and/or what size they are?

(I'm guessing it's the stock 168 bulb size?)

I got this from a previous post:

Parking light
Part number = 1157
I'm assuming that "parking light" means the corners. If not, try this:
Front sidemarker
Part number = 194

your best bet is to check your owners manual....it has the part number listed for the bulb you wanna replace. Hope that helps

You very well might be right. Maybe I was looking at a rear parking light and thinking of the front.

just an update. I just checked my manual and it definitely says "168" is the parking light.

1157 is listed as "stop and tail lights"
