Broken ignition housing. Please HELP!

Hi,

I attempted numerous times to get my key in the ACC position but would not even trying newly cut keys from the dealer cut with their computer data base.
I even tried to drill out the locking pin underneath, but that was hardened beyond what my drill bits could cut though.
I was left with no choice to drill and pry it out. In the process, I cracked the ignition housing open enough to get the cylinder out.

I have a new cylinder on order and will be receiving it tomorrow. I'm hoping that the new cylinder assembly will still work when I install it back together.

Does the housing need to be in perfect condition in order to work or do I need to replace the whole thing now. Can I even get the housing from a junk yard, or do I have to purchase the whole steering column?

Paul

Thanks in Advance
