sticky steering wheel

About half a year ago, I thought that the camry's steering was the smoothest and easiest to turn. However, lately the steering wheel feels a little sticky. It seems a little hard when turning the steering wheel at first...then it becomes easy again...and when you turn it more, it becomes hard to turn again.

I checked the power steering fluids and it looked almost to the minimum point so i filled it up to little over the max line. The problem did not go away. Does anybody know whats wrong? Steering is getting to be kinda irritating after a while.

thanks...

Check the tie rod ends for wear just in case they could be contributing to your problem.

I think that's pretty normal. My Accord does that, so does my mom's 2000 ML320 with 13,000 miles. If there's a way to fix it I'd like to know too!

I don't know what to tell you guys. My cam (I've only had it for a month) has very smooth steering. Definitely the smoothest and easiest I've ever felt.

The man I bought it from said he had an issue on the high-way with a plastic bag attacking the power steering pump, so he had it replaced. It's amazing how smooth the steering is for having 152k miles on it.

Perhaps the pump itself is the culprit? I'm not so sure.
