I was wondering that by replacing the stock airfilter with a K&N or TRD one, will it make any difference? They mentioned about 5 hp gains in average, can you really tell a difference in the car's performance? is it even noticeable? (since 5hp seems so small)
thanks

The theory behind TRD filters are that they were the old K&N filter designs. They will NOT add 5 HP to the car, may be at redline when the throttle is wide open at best 1 HP, but normal driving conditions, don't think so.

Well any cotton filter will not give you anything more than 2.5hp for one thing...

...but imagine the stock filter is a piece of tissue, put it in front of your nose and try to blow at it, that's how bad it's like.

(Uh I can't type...)

i've been trying to get the k&n panel for a few months. apparently, k&n isn't supplying them. dunno why. i think i heard from a retailer that they were redesigning something...maybe the fit, since people have a slightly difficult time closing the box on it. you might not be able to find one for a while. if you do, let me know where!
