Guys i need some suggestions!!!! My cars going in for tints next weekend and i'm having a tuff time deciding on how dark i should go. Some ppl i've talked to said that 35% (which is pretty light) looks very classy. On the other hand, other ppl are telling me that 15% (much darker) is a must of black cars.
What would you get? 35? 25? 15? or 25 front and 15 back? The latter is what i have in mind since i can't make up my mind. This is what it looks like right now...
As a purely practical matter, apart from what the law says (you should, of course, stay within the law whatever it is where you live), just remember that the darker you go, the greater your likelihood of being messed with by law enforcement. If I were doing this, I'd make sure that the tint is light enough that it was easy to tell that I don't have a couple bales of marijuana stacked in the back seat, or of course, a weapon pointed outward. In short, the less curious or nervous you make the local constabulary, the happier you're going to be in the long run.
If I were you I'd go with 5% limo tint for the back half. I don't know if it's legal to tint front half where ever you live. I live in Chicago and I did 5% limo tint for the back half, it looks sweet, changes the look of the car completely, I see that you have black car, so tint like that would be really nice IMHO.
I doubt cops gonna mess with you at all, I never been stoped before and it's been a year since I got them tinted.
I'm planing to tint my front half by my self with 35% or something like that, not too dark, just little darker to match the back. The only way they give you ticket for tinted windows is when they pull you over for something else.
and for the

I don't think cops gonna mess with you, people who are constantly on weed don't drive slammed brand new camries. They drive junk cars

I have 35% in the front and 15% in the back....loooks nice for my taste, try to find some black cars out there and try to find what you like....it's more of a personal taste of what you like.....I'd go with 20% all around even with the windshield
Originally posted by Gridlyne Durb, do you get stopped for them? Can you see well at night with them on?
I haven't gotten stopped for them YET...and at night they are a little tough to see out of especially when making left turns but in the summer usually roll the windows down, but I rarely drive at night so it cool.
I tried to stay legal so I have "35%" (the dude told me its more like 28%) with a clear windshield. Personally I don't like the look where the back is darker than the front especially on sedans, but if you do go that way then it might look better to keep them somewhat similar.
edit: Oh yeah and I've had friends that got pulled over and busted for their tint (most had 5%), which sucks cause they had to pay for their profesional installation and then are gonna have to pay even more to have it removed and re-tinted.
