You're in the same boat with me buddy.
I talked to SpectraBlueCam, he's good at things like that. He said it's better to get aftermarket resonator, here is why, I'll quote his email:
Quote:
Because the OEM resonator has smaller inlet and outlet than your new exhaust, just go with a new one. The Magnaflow one should do just fine and will have a deeper tone than the stock one because it is bigger (compare a tuba to a trumpet). But just remember, don’t get something done for the sake of getting it done if it can’t be done 100% - i.e. make sure you find the right shop with the right materials before paying out.
In my case I want magnaflow muffler with 2.25' mandrel bend piping (which is REALLY hard to find).
I hope that helps.

I just made few calls and finally found performance shop with mandrel bending machine! $150 bucks for the pipe work if i bring my own muffler and resonator. This dude said its not really mandrel machine but some other name but it's the same thing. They do cars over 1500HP so they gotta have what i need) Now i gotta drive 20 miles to check it out.

No, not at all. It's just that [I] want a magnaflow muffler, because it's the most affordable for me and some people got them on their camrys and they sound good. To have more chances of nice deep sound I chose to get a resonator too, probably from magnaflow as well. I'm not sure yet, I have to look up more. My best guess you can use any brand resonator with any brand muffler. The bigger the resonator the better sound. Don't go too big, you don't want it sound like muscle carLOL at least I don't
There is only one type of mandrel bends. That means diameter of the pipe is the same in the middle of the bend as the pipe it self. (if that makes sence). Just find a performance shop around where you live who got mandrel bending machine, then you can get a quote from them.
