what kind of leather?

hi, i'm planning to condition my leather within the next week or two. now, i bought the camry used, it is a 97, and it seems like the previous owner didn't treat the interior very well, the leather looks dull and a bit dirty, i dont' think she conditioned the leather at all.
anyhow, i was wondering what kind of leather is in the camry? is the leather vinyl coated? i know that with coated leather you ahve to condition it differently. i know the leather isn't perforated cuz it doesn't have those small tiny holes on the seat.

so can someone tell me what kind of leather is it?
or can any owner of 97 camry help me on this?

thank you

When I had leather in a car I just got out a good rag with some warm soap and water and gently scrubbed and wiped the leather down. Then I would follow with some Armorall Leather Spray, then I wiped the leather down with that after I was done. Everything look darn clean and shiny . I literally slipped right out of my seat a couple of times .

Try using fast orange. its a handcleaner used in shops. You can get it at autozone. There is no petroleum in it and can clean leather, vinyl, plastic and rubber without harming it. Check out this site.http://www.cureline.net/lex/howtos/h..._detailing.htm

You can use fast orange to clean the leather like trdcamry2003 suggested and then when you want to condition the leather use a product called connolly hide food. You can get it at Jaguar dealerships and its kinda pricey cause its British. This stuff is amazing, just put a little bit on a rag and massage it into the seats, wait a minute or two and then buff the seats with another rag. The results are amazing! The leather is way softer and richer looking. Only thing is that hide food stuff smells kinda rank so you might wanna grab a bottle of febreeze before ya start.

from what I've heard, use cocoa butter....and rub it into the leather. softens it up and also gives it a nice smell....

you can get it at drug stores I think

most people doont know this but you can clean and condition leather seats in one shot with Pledge furniture polish. mr grandma used it on her 92 camry seats the whole time she had it and they looked great all the way up until she sold it in 2003. and it smells good too.
