2) Can someone with a Solara that has upgraded to the shortshifter please
: send me their stock shifter. I promise that you will get your stock
: shifter back, and I will pay for all of the shipping! I am trying to
: determine if the shortshifter will work in my Gen3 V6. Please help!

Instead of trying to "make" a recent Solara shortshifter "work" on your 92-93 Gen3, a better place to look will be to comparable manual units produced in the same time period for shortshifter replacements.

The Celica of that period has the same 5s-fe engine as the Camry. It is highly likely, then, that the Celica and Camry manual tranny's for the 5s-fe are the same. Let's assume that the 5s-fe Camry and your 3m-fe (??) Camry share the same manual tranny (I'm pretty sure), then the Celica shortshifter from that period will be a direct replacement for your shifter. In other words, you won't have to "make it work". Or at the very least, even if you have to "make it work" you won't have to deal with a 7 or 8 year difference in design and technology.

The Celica shortshifter is available at http://www.toyotaguys.com

"I found out today that the shifter on the gen 4 will fit on a gen3. So, this means you can have a '97 short shifter install on a gen 3... I'll be getting my hands on aTRD short shifter soon and try to see if this will really work..."
