Hi,
I have a malfuction lamp on my car. (the one that looks like a tap and has "check" sign under it)
The toyota technicians are checking it, but I would like to know if there is anyone has simular problem. I know it has something to do with the engine, but I don't know what's wrong since I have only done Injen intake. It wouldn't make a problem like this, right?
I have put a fluid (STP product that helps to regain horsepower and torque but I don't remember the name of it) about 3~4 weeks ago.
I don't know much about cars and I am just guessing this would be the one that causes the problem. (I think I am wrong)
Please give me some advice for this.
If this is caused by the intake, I wouldn't get the engine replaced by warranty and that's what I am worrying about.

Thanks.

Did you connect all the necessary sensors for the Injen intake?? As for the stuff to REGAIN hp and torque, isn't your car brand spanking new?? What do you have to regain?? :???:

There's no way to "guess" what the check engine light is. That could mean upwards of maybe 50 different malfunctions detected by the engine. It will generate a "code" which can be read with diagnostic equipment.

my friend said the STP fluid was recommended to use every time I change my engine oil...
so..I thought it would be better than nothing.
What I am worrying about is, if the malfunction was caused by intake, I can't get any warranty on the engine. Am I right?

I have no idea what car you drive but check that your MAF sensor, Airflow meter or IAT sensor (which ever is applicable) and make sure it's plugged in properly.

I used to add those stuff to my Gen2 before. Though nothing happened with the car then, I've stopped using them as those fluids act more like "accelerating agents" for the engine. Your friend told you that only because that's what the bottle says. I highly doubt it will rejuvenate your engine.
