Axxis Pads

Has anyone used AXXIS Brake pads on their Gen 3 Cam or any cam for that matter. I might get these. They retail for almost $70 but i might get a deal on them. Any opinions on their performance? Thanx

dunno... I've seen A LOT of deals on them tho. Search with 'Froggle' (the shopping version of Google) for Camry, Axxis pads are EVERYWHERE which leads me to belive they're a new product and all their hype might be self generated.

those prices are standard for the Gen 3 ($66 or so). Froogle looks cool, had never heard of it.

Anyone have any performance feedback on these at all?

I used the axxis (deluxe?) pads for the rears. They don't dust too much and are quiet. Performance wise, I guess it's at least as good as the oems.
It's hard to judge performance since it seems like the fronts do most of the work and I put fairly aggressive pads up front.

what did you use on the fronts? I'm looking for something better than OEM for sure

the deluxe are pretty much replacement oem pads but a little better. if you want a little more performance, i heard the axxis metal masters are really good but might squeak a little. give that a try. generally oem replacements are pretty good in terms of braking distance and durability

Ceramic

Get ceramic pads they lasts forever. They dont wear down your rotors as much as reg pads.

yea ceramics are quiet and not as harsh on your rotors but performance wise i don't think they tend to do too well, well from my experience

what brand of ceramic though. Previous ones i've used haven't been all that great, do you have a specific brand you're talking about?

True ceramic brakes are super exotic, but not ideal for most day to day use cars (although some Porsches use them.) They need a lot of heat (read: abuse) for them to be effective. Normal driving just can't build up enough heat.

If you're looking for performance brakes, check to see of Hawk or EBC have an application for your car, they're reputable.

And from what I hear, TRD is overpriced and mediocre as far as pads.

Ebc's wear pretty fast and chew up your rotors. I've heard good things about porterfield, hawk, and kvr. Right now im running akebono pro-act ceramics with 19k on them and only 15% worn.

Which EBC pads are you reffering to? Green or Red? I liked the Greens on my car.
