Question rough idle & hesitation

I have a 89 camry with auto trans. and I see quite a few questions being asked about rough idle in gear (warm engine) . I have the same problem and some of the suggestions to cure the problem are to replace the I.S.C. motor , has anyone tried this and did it fix the problem? Also I question the EGR valve , it seems to work but I wonder if it is working to well , I mean to much egr on acceleration causing the hesitation just off idle . Has anyone had this problem and did the EGR valve replacement fix it?

Most of the problems with the ISC / IAC / IAV are low idle on cold starts.

You can try cleaning it out and see if that helps.

And you can test the egr valve with a vacuum pump.
