Angry Rear Sway bar banging :(

I have a problem, the bolt that I busted yesterday was the rear sway bar and now its loose and its banging on other parts, its missing the rubber part, where can I can this?

And the bolt is broken into the bolt so i cant get it out. What to do? Its kinda annoying, other then that my springs r great!

you can prolly pick up those bushings and bolts at your local dealer. as for the broken bolt, you need to get a drill tap set and drill it out. then you can replace it with the new bolt and bushing. beware, oem parts from the dealer are expensive as hell. i think you can get some whitline sway bar bushings from silver cartel. you should do a search for his post regarding whiteling swaybars and bushings. they might be cheaper than oem parts.

Get it fixed!!! If the sway bar weren't needed, it wouldn't be there in the first place from the factory. What do you think helps the rear lateral movement? The bushings are expensive because they need to absorb the shock from the sway bar due to the car's movement. You've saved money by buying cheap Sprint springs and installing them yourself, now, get the rest of the broken parts fixed, especially suspension parts!!!

lol. He's just shocked you asked if you needed it... without the swaybar you'll flip the car. I know, I had a broken endlink and I almost rolled it a few times.

now...

Is it the bushing where the swaybar connects to the frame or is it where the end of the swaybar connects to the endlink or where the other end of the endlink connects to the strut?

Polyurathane swaybar-to-frame bushings can be had at Whiteline via CTM.
The endlink bushings cant be replaced you'll need to replace the whole endlink. They're $70-90usd each new from a dealer or $70 for two from CTM. Sometimes you can find them on ebay for as little as $25usd for one.

Its closest to the driver side strut, its the end where it connects to this thing that has an allen key bolt, which connects to the strut.

Thats the end link... it connects the sway bar to the strut, you hold the nut with the allen key and wrench it with a 14mm or so open end. Its a ball and socket joint with a grease filled bushing.

If you actually severed the bolt your car is not safe to drive. Be very careful turning! you could roll the car very easily.
If the bolt is still holding everything together and its just clunking around, all you did was rip the bushing.
Either way you'll have to replace the whole endlink.

The part that is missing is what connects the sway bar to the top of the car!!!! Its connected to the endlink perfectly, its just that the bolt and the bushing that connects it to the car are gone or broken so the sway bar is flying around banging into other bars.

Check ur pm BLUEMEANIE.

Point to where it hurts...

If its the swaybar-to-frame bushing (or the stabilizer bar bushing ...samething...) I'd drop the $109 and get the thicker Whiteline Swaybar, it comes with polyurathane bushings. Then you can corner like ten times the maniac!
