Congratulations on a great website its cool. I have a few questions on my car. My stock head unit is the combanation tape am/fm radio. I purchased a pioneer 6 disk cd changer for it. My unit already has the cd changer controls on it. Is the pioneer unit compatible with mine? Also are there any performance mods for my car (2.2 4cyl) for under $100? Thanks for you help and keep up the good work.

Welcome to TN!

Whether the CD changer is compatiable depends on the controller which needs to be plugged in to the back of your head unit. I do know that Toyota OEM changers are rebadged Pioneers. The best way is to just try it out. Even if it doesn't fit, an aftermarekt deck is always a good investment.

As for engine mods for under $100, try a K&N filter.

The brand of the OEM changer may vary by model year - for example, the stock 3-in-1 head unit in my gen4 camry is made by Fujitsu Ten (parent company of the awesome Eclipse), as well as the 3-disc dash loading changer for non 3-in-1 equipped cars. Not too clear on who makes the trunk-mounted changer.

Try a local stereo shop, many places sell interfaces that allow you to run an aftermarket changer with a factory unit that has changer controls. Interfaces aren't available for all brands of changers, so check around.
