How to remove spark plug

In the 99 Camry, 5S-FE engine, the plugs sit like 6-7 inches down in the recess. Even if I were able to loosen them, I'll need a tool to extract them out of there. Is there a special tool for this job?

I would prefer hand-tightening the plugs before torqing them down. That means I'll need a tool to insert and maintain a grasp on them while hand-tightening them. Is there a separate tool for this?

Thanks.

Most spark plug sockets have little magnets (or little rubber plugs) inside that'll hold onto the plug after you unscrew it. If it still falls out, you can just use the spark plug boot to pull it out.

Try this

go to parts store with new sparkplug
Get a length of rubber tubing that can fit onto the sparkplug end, over the conductor and onto the ceramic portion, but is still thin enough to give clearance around the edges.
(12" recomended, as they sell by the foot)

Snip it down to 8" or so for better handling, shove into spark plug hole, and then turn out the plug.

Use the hose to gently start the threads before tightening.

I index my plugs so the electrodes align with the cam axis

I travel too much (1400 km each week minimum) and need to maintain fuel economy, On my Cavalier that gave me an increase of about 1.6 mpg or 0.4 less liters of gas every 100km.

Tracking fuel economy is the only way I can know how healthy the engine is because it did not have as many fancy sensors and trouble codes were vauge.
(the reference chart asked me to fix/ check components not available to my car)

I have done that to my 4cyl Camry but could not track fuel consumption reliably over the winter.

I will do this to my V6 camry as well.
