well i couldn't wait.. I had the whiteline swaybar installed on my gen3 only 3 hours after recieving it.

first impressions: the rear end of the car is much stiffer when changing lanes and making turns. It actually makes the front seem much more "rolly". These impressions are with stock springs and struts with only a front strut tower brace which actually let me feel the difference the bar makes, since the job of reducing body roll is primarily the springs, and the swaybar is supplementary. On my way home from the install it was raining and on my second left hand turn at an intersection the rear-end slid mildly but very noticably to me. It was a very very nice surprise for me, who's only had the rear end skid once with my camry and that was under extremely hard braking and a quick right turn one late night. All in all, it was VERY worth the money, and thanks to Anish for ONCE AGAIN organizing the group buy.

latez.

Could the rain have played a large part in this phenomenon?

Not exactly. We (TTCC members) frequent this place so often, we might as well call it home. Jeff and I spent more time there than at our real homes for the past couple of days

Don't get us wrong, we appreciate Basil's shop, so we don't get stuff done for free there, we pay the man.

He charged me $30 CAN for about 15 mins of work, and a good quality job, propz to him and his boys.

latez.

Just a word of caution. This is a DIY provided there aren't any problems. If your car is old and suffers from corrosion, you may encounter difficulties. Ask Speednm! When I got mine installed, my mech had a hard time freeing up the endlinks. He had to use a torch to break it free.

You're welcome guys. Good to see you all getting it installed. The difference with it on is really like night and day!

You're lucky if you don't have to deal with seized bolts.

It won't take 30 minutes on your driveway, more like an hour. The endlinks can come off pretty easily with an airgun but if you're using regular tools and the endlinks are seized, don't bother. Those are the first nuts you should try to take off.

Then you have to either crawl under or hoist up your car to remove the bushing screws...then wrangle the bar out. It's a straight forward job but not having the right tools could make it difficult.

However, if I need to regrease my bushings, I'll do it myself because I won't need to take off the endlinks to remove the bushings. White lithium marine grease works the best I heard.

WOW! what a difference! i just got my bar installed at the dealership, and i love it!

Just a note for those who want to do it in the driveway. The shop said they had alittle problem wiggling it out becuase of the exhaust. THey had to have two people, one to wiggle it, and one hanging on the exhuast.

Diggin' around in the past

Does the Whiteline Swaybar have to be done with the wheels on and the car on the ground ? Or can we through it up on a rack and install it there ? Ratko did the latter, any problems ? Who did it in thier laneway not jacked up ?

Thanks,

I jacked mine up and took off the wheels...I don't see how you can get to it if you don't jack it up...especially if your car is lowered.
