EFI main relay over heat?

Does this ever happen to anyone? I have a relay (EFI main relay) which is round and silver color. It's in the rectangular relay & fuse box next to the battery. Everytime it get really hot, my engine would die. I then would switch another one in and the car runs fine. Does it suppost to get that hot?

By the way, my car is a 93 camry V6 - 3vzfe

also I sometime smell a burning smell when driving, can anyone suggest what that is? I also see smoke too when I lift up the hood. Not your engine is on fire smoke, but light kinda like when water boil smoke. I checked around and see nothing abnormal.

Seems a bit weird but you can change it and try, it's not an expensive thing anyway.
As for your burning smell is your car a manual or auto ? Because apart from the clutch or brakes (if you happen to brake VERY hard sometimes) I only see burning or melting electrical wires / connections and that might be rather worrying
