A month ago, I was checking out the new V6 6-speed Accord Coupe and it was a FABULOUS car. I would love to own it. However, I like Toyota. Do you think Toyota will start putting some 5 or 6-speed back in some V6 cars? I would hate to see the Accord get all the attention.
Or, how about an Solara with a V6 (new 3.3L.), 6-speed, and TRD suspension. That would kick ass!

My 2004 camry is 5 speed. 2002 and 2003 were 4 speed. 2004s are 5 speed. The SE models come with McPharson suspension which can be found in a lot of german cars like VW, bmw, and audi. Pretty stiff suspension.
I don't think we will ever see a manual transmission Avalon. Probably 99% of Avalon buyers want smooth, Buick-y cars, not sports cars. (Unless Toyota is trying to change the Avalon's target market, which would probably be a mistake, because it sells well as it is.)
I think that we will definately see a Solara with a manual V6. It may be a year or two, but sooner or later it will probably show up. Toyota will see how many manual Accord V6 coupes Honda sells, and will want to get some of those sales.
We can only hope that one day a manual will come back to the V6 Camry, preferrably offering it accross the whole model line, not just the cheap or $30,000 ones.
If you go to the dealer and sit in a V6 Accord 6-speed coupe, you will feel the same way I did - amazing car. The clutch was VERY light, the gears were short, precise throws, and the quality of the car was amazing - very solid.
I love Toyota, but Honda actually knows how to apply the word 'sport' to a family car. Toyota needs to join the club, or else I might need to take my business elsewhere - but a Subaru is in my future, they are cool cars, and my moms 2001 Outback, while slow as shit, is a great car, and with another 100 HP (as in, the turbo Outback and Legacy for 2005), would be the perfect car.

i would never sit inside a honda....
only if my life REALLY depends on it...
toyota 4 life man...
p.s. yes i know hondas do make great cars and are also a strong japanese auto maker just like toyota...but you know in my area...too many dam civics ricers out there... thats why hondas are a no no for me....
But imagine a bone stock V6 Accord - a car with taste, class, and the goods to back it up (0-60 in 5.9 ), kicking the ass of a turbo'ed Civic with $10,000 worth of parts

i remember back in the day they had a gen 2 Es300 m/t....That would have been a kicker to have.....Solara m/t sales were saggy...and hence toyota no longer makes m/t v6's. If the sales drive are people wanting solara SE's - then its a differnent issue!
