i have a big muffler 4.5 tip and 7 in round weld on kind. i was woundering if it can pass smog, ive been told that it cant pass smog unless its a full exhaust system.

As long as all of your catalytic converters are in place (and you still have your stock intake), you will pass smog in CA. If you only replaced the muffler, you are fine.

^^why don't u just put ur stock one back in...get smog tested then use it after....

Aftermarket intake will not pass smog unless its carb (damn smog nazi's in Cali) approved.

it has the sensor in the middle. is that what your talking about? and there is another black box.
1 that connects with the tubes.
and the other is just a box sticking out of the intake tube.

Aftermarket products that are smog legal (in california anyways) have a carb eo # (california air resources board executive order #).

Basicly if whatever you have is not carb approved it will fail during a smog check.
