I can't find clear taillights for my camry anywhere, I found them on ebay once but when I went back the next day to buy them they disappeared! I really want them and was wondering if anyone was selling them or knew where I could get some... I don't like the red and clear ones, I just want the all clear lights. Thanks.
They aren't illegal so long as you have red bulbs underneath them...
Perfect example: the new generation Lexus RX330.
My mom drives one and when she got it, I was surprised that the taillights weren't illegal, but after talking with a local police officer, he said that all you need are orange and red bulbs that are distinct in color.
Originally posted by Oldman they still are illegal, even with red bulbs, because they dont' reflect red light when illuminated by another car's headlights
I, personally, do not own a pair of clear taillights, BUT on my mom's RX there is a very reflective bowl inside her taillights which CLEARLY reflects the red bulb so in that sense, I understand why it's not illegal.
I take it the clear camry tails don't have some sort of reflective surface insides that would emit the scattered red bulb color?
It depends on your town, at least where i'm from NJ. I've had cops follow me plenty of times and they never pulled me over for it b/c i put the colored bulbs in, but i met another camry owner and he told me he had them in and his town enforced it.
Well...Since autodynamics isn't getting profit anymore from those...You think they would give you the addy of the place they get them from? You might have to pay a lil more but it could be worth it.
And if the ppl u contact have them, but wont sell them since they are illegal, you could lie and say you are using them for offroad racing...They are legal for off-road right?
