How many cars use the 5S-FE? How is there such a variance in the "Stock" horsepower in those engines.

Got this from a post by wraith: 5S-FE 135hp and like 140or 145lbs of torque

How can the same engine produce so much variance?

because the 3S-GTE is one of the best motors Toyota ever had... And the horse power varies because of the difference in setups, turbos, electronics, boost, and years...
