Oh and how much difference is there between the ratios of the standard box and the GT4 box??

AND any suggestions as to which clutch to use??

I want a heavier one than stock but full-faced.(no brass-buttons)

Tranny from a GT4 is designed for AWD. So its not what you want.

You can use a tranny from a Celica GTS with the 3S-GE, E153 tranny from V6 Camry/Solara, or a tranny from a gen 2 Camry.

Go with the Tranny from a 86-89 Celica GTS. I have it in my car. Extremely easy swap since you don't need to do anythign but bolt it in where your old trans was and the gearing is very nice.

If you are going to replace the clutch, you need one for the 3sge(86-89 Celica GTS) even though I am pretty sure they have the same part number.

I paid 150 for my trans with 60k miles on it. They also had one for 300 with 30k miles on it. Go here to find them. www.car-part.com
