American/Metric Gauge Cluster Conversion...

I'm looking to conver my American (MPH) gauge cluster to a Metric (km/h) gauge cluster. I'm wondering if ther would be any modifications I would need to make?

Would I have to change the CPU to convert it to km/h? Or could I just use my original wiring and attach it to the new cluster?

Thanks a lot guys,
-Mike

i dont think km/h is reffered to as euro, but rather metric perhaps, or somthing like that, cause its not only europe that has km/h, but pretty much the rest of the world apart from the states.

as for the gauge cluster, you would need a new odometer. the easiest way i could see doin that is gettin the cluster from a junk yark in canada. that still wouldn't get around the odometer part, but it would be the best place to start

Sorry, euro was just the first reference I thought of. I'm pretty sure I could get ahold of the cluster. Could I just get the odometer out of junk yard too? Or maybe order in one?

you can get gauge faces.. ie they fit on top of your existing gauges... but idk if they make any in KMPH for your car... you can always get them custom made or just swap a cluster from Canada.. try ebay.ca or make a trip up to Canada lol US dollars go further here

Well as far as I know. I just need to replace the gauge cluster. I have to keep the same odometer, seeing as it is illegal to change the mileage on a car. So I'm thinking I will just ship one in and see how it works out.
If anyone knows of one I could buy, that would be great. Otherwise, I'm just going to hit up the buy/sell section. Thanks a lot guys.

P.S. I might make that trip up there someday. Maybe for a meet or something. If there can be one near the border. $5.00USD should hold me over for a weekend right?

You can just get the km/h spedo face. If you look at your current mph spedo there is a smaller yellow ring that displays km/h.
I wanted to do this a while ago for shits n' grins but couldn't find a km/h spedo face.

????? You said you wanted to do it, but couldn't find the face? So how would I do it? Or do they make one now?

(yeah I know about the ring. That's why I was figuring it would be pretty easy. I just didn't know if I would have to replace the whole cluster. Slapping on a new face seemed to easy)

I was only halfassed looking on TN, Camryman and SC3... You can't usually get just the face (unless its indiglo) you have to buy the whole gauge cluster. Try taprecycling.com
