Guys

I have a question, I have a 93 Camry with a 4cyl and auto. The trans seems lazy shifting between 1st and 2nd but only under hard accelration. All the other shifts are crisp. Any ideas?

What's the mileage on the car?

Try getting the tranny fluid flushed.

What do you mean by "lazy"? Is it shifting late? Under heavy acceleration it will shift at high revs.

What I mean by lazy is that it seems to take a sec or two to go into second. The RPM dont increase so its not slipping just not a crisp shift like 2-3. This is my first Toyota so I am not sure if this is the way they are....

As for getting a new car, I have 2 others. This is my back and forth to work car as it gets great gas milage.

Try with ECT on and see how it behaves. Let me know what it does then.

ECT seems to be a little worse during normal driving. Hard driving about the same.
