Unhappy creaking suspension

my sv11 is going out the door, and after 18 good years it's something that i can't hide anymore. there are a few things that i'd like to take care of before i pass it on though, the front suspension creaks whenever i completely let off of the throttle going no faster than 30. it also creaks while going over any speed bumps. the struts have been replaced within the last 3 years which makes me think that those arn't to blame. i also believe that the springs were replaced around the same time. it may have been sooner than. anyway, i'm wondering just what is it thats making this noise? the people at les-schwab are idiots and cannot figure it out. i'm cheap i kno.

You need to regrease the swaybar bushings. If the struts are ok then this is prob. what it is. You might need to replace the bushings depending on how bad they look.

i would think it MAY be the springs... i'd check them out as far as how they sit on the struts... there should be plastic there to cushion it... if not, that might be why it sounds that way... but what TRD says could be true as well...

sidenote... TRD, you are everywhere on this forum now... good shit dude! welcome to the heavy posters club...

When you replaced the struts did ya also replace the strut mounts? If not then this is most likely your problem. I replaced my struts on my Gen2 a few years ago as well but neglected to replace my rear strut mounts, now they creak like the upstairs neighbors in bed. It's fackin annoying.

yeah, thats exactly what they sound like. creaky floorboards. i'll see about the swaybar bushings in addition to the strut mount and let you know how it goes. thank you all. it's greatly appreciated

If it's your strut mounts making the noise be sure to buy new strut mount bearings as well. This is what is actually making the noise. The bearings are like 25-30 bucks each. One on each side.
Thanks zoni. Yeah im addicted to tn

I think I might have the same problem dunno for sure. When I drive through normal streets at low speeds around like 10-25 mph I hear like rumbling noises coming from the front. I'm not sure if its near the tire or what. I know for sure that the springs and struts are okay, insulators are ok as well. Could it be bearings? I have a 94 5sfe with 115K

Thanks in advance,
Calvin

If it is the strut mount bearings than you'll hear a creaking noise at a stand still when you're turning the steering wheel. Also when you're going slow from 5 to 15 mph. I need to replace mine.
