Who knows power steering pumps?

OK, when I was putting my engine back in after my tranny swap, I realized that the two vacuum lines going to the power steering pump aren't both connected to something. I mean, both rubber lines are connected to the hard lines that are bolted to the intake. One of those hard lines runs to the intake manifold, but the other one goes to a rubber hose near the throttle body. This line is not conected to anything. That means one of the ports on the power steering pump is not connected to anything.

Is this supposed to be connected to the bottom of the IAC valve?

Any info on this would be great!

Steve

It should connect to the bottom of the IAC valve. Mine (3S-FE) does.

Excellent!!! That's what I needed to know...even with pics!

The routing of the p/s lines is not documented anywhere.

Thanks again!

yeah the 5sfe should have a little thing with 2 ports actually coming right off of the ps pump... the v6's have a line that comes off of the ps pump with a banjo fitting that goes up behind the intake manifold with those same 2 ports, but im pretty sure the 5sfe has the 2 ports directly off of the ps pump with a banjo fitting.

That wasn't the question...I wanted to know where the other end of the hard line went. Yes, there is a air control valve on the back of the 5SFE pump (there is no such thing on the back of the v6 pump) and these lines connect directly to the two hard lines right near them.

But my question was what is connected to the other end of the hard lines. It's the IAC valve, as 88 LE already pointed out and as I suspected.
