1mzefe engine...

Just wondering, i found a 1mzfe auto engine for like $1,100 off a 2000 camry with 43K miles on it. you think this is a good price/steal or too much?

Cause i think i can get the manual tranny seperate and hook them both up for my gen4. what do you think?

yeah for some reason they dont work. Go to the site and enter in your year, model, and state. Then you can pick what engine/trans u want.

1,000 bux for a v6 engine with low miles is great in my opinion.... dam if i never did my exhaust, springs, struts, cat back, short ram, cd player, etc ... i would have gotten a v6 engine by now

yeah, 1000 bucks isn't nearly as bad as i thought it would be. not sure if it comes with tranny or not, but i'll call tomorrow and find out. if it doesn't, i figure the tranny will be another 1000 bucks. not too bad

I'd be the crazy one to look in Japan for the 2MZFE just to have a 2.5L V6 (same power).

I'm crazy like that.

good price dude... thought we talked about a turbo though! its ok, if you really want to do this, its ok...

i'll do the labor for ya if you want.

that price is ok, but you will need to still find the alternator, ps pump (year 2000), a/c compressor (2000), igniter, make sure the wire harness is uncut, ecu etc...

i forget if you wanted to go auto or manual tranny...

HAHA...some other crazy dudes tried that with teh 3rd gen 3sgte motor.....then getting parts wasn't that funny! esp. as they had to wait 4-7 weeks till the part arrived! I think a good reliable mod should be the 3sge *with the turbo* swap! 165ponies...ain't to shabby!

i was thinking about going ahead with the turbo instead and just change the heads, pistons, rods, etc. on the 5sfe i have now. But i sat and thought really hard as to what i wanted, and almost gave up on thinking about the 1mzfe. Then i stumble onto car-parts and find that there's a place around the corner from me selling the engine at that price. not too bad i thought.

zoni, thanks alot man. luis sent me a pm telling me you guys would help me out if i went ahead with this.

the motor mounts will not be the same... you will need all the v6 motor mounts. there are 3+tranny mount. front lower, rear lower, and torque strut + tranny mount.

oh my god a whole list?

well i think i made a complete list somewhere already... but oh well...

=1mz motor
=1mz standard ecu
=1mz wiring harness, complete, not cut. preferably standard tranny, but it doesnt matter.
=standard v6 tranny
=motor mounts mentioned above
=right axle (sometimes will come with a motor mount cause the =bearing is tough to get out)
=left axle
=right and left wheel hubs/steering knuckles
=right and left rotors
=right and left calipers
=power steering pump
=alternator
=a/c compressor
=v6 igniter
=new spark plugs - platinum tipped
=new oil filter
=new oil
=new gear oil
=new Automatic Tranny Fluid (for power steering)
=new coolant
=radiator decision...
use 4cyl radiator? - you need a few couplings from home depot and some extra radiator hose
use v6 radiator? - you need the radiator and the hoses
use mk3 supra radiator? - you need the radiator and some couplings and extra hose
=use the 4cylinder radiator fan...
=you need a new clutch kit - performance or oem??? you decide, i like spec stage 3 but ratko would have gone with stage 2 if he could do it over again
=flywheel - performance or oem? fidanza, aasco, or stock
=slave cylinder should come with tranny
=need to get a clutch line (i got one from autozone, a hard line and bent it to fit around the engine bay. the hard line provides hard clutch pedal, better than the stock rubber hose. which is also an option, along with ss braided line which is more $$)
=need a master cylinder
=need a clutch pedal
=brake pedal
=center console if you want it to appear stock
=shift boot, see above
=lots of wire
=connectors to plug into the ecu cause we will be missing a plug. we will have to wire up each pin for like 7 or 8 pins...
=ummmm i know i must be leaving some shit out... maybe, maybe not. ill check back later... after i go to the bar and come back drunk
